INMERSIVE ART EXHIBITION IN VIRTUAL REALITY AT INTERNATIONAL CENTRE OF CONTEMPORARY CULTURE OF TABAKALERA
Immersive art exhibition in virtual reality “Evolution from imperfection”, a project by silvia & the spyglass in a innovative format where art is mixed with music and technology.
In the show there will be authentic artworks in 360 degrees, in which anyone, young or not so young, can sumerge themselves. This immersive trip in which seven artworks of Silvia Sánchez come to life thanks to virtual reality techniques, allows the immersion in another world, one filled with emotions, fantasy and surrealism, and will waken questions about beauty in the imperfect, the importance of the small things in life, about vital learnings and transformation, dreaming about life to live it in all of its colors.
Reality has been explored for a while now. The other reality, the other realities, have adjectives: virtual, augmented… And these new realities also arrived to creation.
The youth, attached to technology, to new audiovisual formats, wants to reach creation, art, through new experiences. Further than traditional exhibitions on galleries and museums, innovative experience that’s allow diving into immersive realities are being sought after. Realities where, in the traditional two dimensions of painting, can jump and transform not only in a three dimensional space but in universes to be visited, where one can interact.
More than 15 years ago, Silvia decided to leave the world of law and dedicate herself professionally to art. She lived in Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates, exhibiting her work in all of these places. In these countries and their cultures, she is an observer of human emotions, her own and others’, that serve her as raw material. She observes, gets to know, un-knows, without judgement. Her work has women as base. A woman that evolves from her fragilities towards her strengths. A woman that is the central figure of her work, she reflects emotions and livings. A work focused on the importance of the little things. On blooming people’s smiles. From figurative simplicity it jumps to a almost surreal symbolism.
