Exhibition “Art, Emotions, Augmented Reality and Neuroscience” November - December at the Insular Library of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
The exhibition features eight original physical paintings by the artist, animated using Augmented Reality. By downloading a free app via a QR code and pointing their mobile phone camera at the paintings, viewers can interact with the animated elements, which come to life on their phones, invading the gallery space and blending the real and virtual worlds.
The exhibition also showcases the results of a pioneering art and neuroscience experiment conducted with TECNALIA. This experiment, the first of its kind worldwide, analyzed a vast body of work by an artist—35 pieces by Silvia Sánchez—with the aim of measuring the emotional spectrum her work evokes and uncovering its predominant emotional territory. The results demonstrate Silvia's work's capacity to trigger emotions, predominantly positive and pleasurable, with high levels of joy, trust, curiosity, and surprise. These emotions point to a positive and stimulating experience for participants.
